How to Add More Security to your Facebook Account When Using Applications

Ever had your Facebook account suspended due to inappropriate posting or spamming done by Facebook Applications you never thought would be harmful to your account? There are thousands of applications integrated on Facebook nowadays that most people don't seem to bother anymore about the risk they are taking everytime they approve an application to take control of their account. Facebook gives options to revoke or remove the access to some of your information these applications have but only after this application has been granted access. You can do this in the account settings and remove the access of a certain application to your other information. But is there really a way to do this even before the application is granted access? Here's how you can add more security to your Facebook account against spam applications.

If you're a Firefox user then this add-on is just for you. All you need to do is go to liisp.uncc.edu/fbs and download the add-on called FB-Secure. This add-on for Firefox will give you more control over a Facebook application. This useful tool will be available the next time you try to install a Facebook application. When Facebook asks if you want to allow a certain application access to specific information on your account, a small window will pop-up that will allow you to check or uncheck specific boxes corresponding to a specific information about your account. It will also show the status of a that application about how many other Facebook users approved or disapproved this application.

So the next time you install another application, think twice by using FB-Secure, get the security you need, and avoid being a victim of identity theft.
